Platform Developer

Location: Remote (within Germany), Berlin Salary Range: EUR 60,000 – 70,000

As a Platform Developer at RedMimicry, you will build and operate the core backend systems of our Breach and Attack Emulation platform. Your primary focus is our Go-based backend: extending services, designing and evolving APIs, integrating internal subsystems that support realistic attack scenarios, and ensuring the platform is secure, reliable, and safe to run in customer environments, including on-premises deployments.

While the role is backend-focused, you will occasionally implement and maintain Svelte frontend components as part of delivering complete features into production. You do not need to be a UI specialist, but you should be comfortable owning changes across the stack when needed.

You will collaborate closely with engineers and security specialists in a small team. Your work will have direct and visible impact on the product.

AI-assisted development tools are part of our engineering workflow, particularly for frontend work. We expect you to use these tools productively and responsibly, while maintaining clear ownership and a high standard of code quality, review, security, and maintainability.

What You’ll Do

  • Develop and maintain core backend components of our Breach and Attack Emulation platform using Go.
  • Design and extend APIs used by the frontend and by internal platform components.
  • Implement and maintain Svelte-based frontend components as part of product feature development.
  • Work with internal subsystems such as malware generation pipelines and infrastructure orchestration.
  • Contribute to a secure and reliable system design and ensure safe execution of playbooks in customer environments.
  • Improve internal tooling, automation, and CI/CD workflows.
  • Work closely with security content engineers and other developers.

Skills

You do not need to meet every requirement to apply. If you are passionate about the role, we encourage you to submit your application even if you don’t meet all the requirements.

  • Strong proficiency in Go and solid experience with backend architecture and design
  • Experience building APIs and integrating with distributed systems

  • Security-minded development habits and pragmatic risk mitigation
  • Ownership mindset with a focus on clean, secure, maintainable code

Nice to Have

  • Experience supporting on-prem deployments and customer-operated environments
  • Familiarity with orchestration systems, job runners, or pipeline-based workflows
  • Comfortable with AI-assisted development and willing to use modern tooling effectively while maintaining code quality, security, and maintainability.

Benefits

  • 90 percent remote within Germany
  • Flexible working hours
  • 30 days PTO
  • Professional development budget

Other Requirements

  • Primary residence in Germany
  • Clean criminal record certificate
  • Willingness to travel to the Berlin office approximately once per month
